Three promises that guide us

I.

Handmade

Our signature pieces are lovingly made by hand — frames carved from driftwood, homeware painted in three coats and varnished twice, textiles woven on looms used for generations.

II.

Locally sourced

Wherever we can, we source close to home — Kenyan wool and cotton, local clay, leather from environmentally certified tanneries, driftwood from the coastline. The Natural World is our biggest inspiration.

III.

Empowering people

Working towards sustainable jobs and careers in craftsmanship for women, youth and artisans — safe workplaces, fair trade principles, and communities that lift each other.

Alongside our Kenyan-made collections we carry a carefully chosen selection of pieces made further afield. It keeps our doors open and our shelves beautiful — and the stronger we grow, the more local craft we can commission.

People & planet

Kind to the earth that inspires us

  • Broken restaurant glassware and natural clay, upcycled into new treasures where we can
  • Recycled hardware, and leather from environmentally certified tanneries
  • Biogas dyeing, solar power and rainwater catchment in our weavers’ workshops
  • Tree planting, eco bricks and fuel-efficient stoves for local communities
  • Refill services, and skincare up to 97% naturally derived and not tested on animals
