Diameter - 39.5cm

Origin: Burkina Faso.

For ages, the Bwa tribe, which is recognised for its profound connection to nature and ancient spirits, has used masks in ceremonies and rituals. Sun masks have great significance in their culture because they signify light, life, and fertility.

Sun masks represent the celebration of life and renewal. In the Bwa worldview, the sun is regarded as a vital source of energy and food, critical to agriculture and wealth. These masks are commonly utilised in initiation rituals, festivals, and harvest celebrations to evoke spiritual blessings and crop abundance.
