BAMILEKE BEADED SHIELD BLUE

The beaded shield was historically used as a defensive weapon during conflict and displayed as a decorative symbol of power and wealth by theTikar Tribe.They are carefully carved from a single piece of baobab wood, which was used for medicinal and ritual use.

This shield features hundreds of hand placed glass beads on a manila string in a circular design that surrounds a cluster of cowrie shells in the center and edges.

This is a one of a kind shield collaboratively crafted by tribespeople to ensure each item is unique.
